
Classical Ballet Master Class
Led by Unar Gunaajav
Unurbat Gunaajav is currently serving as the Head of the School.Unur graduated from the Perm State Choreographic Ballet School in Perm, Russia in 1989. Following his training, Unur danced as a soloist with the Renaissance Ballet and the 21st Century Russian Ballet in Moscow, Russia and as a principal with the Mongolian National Ballet. While he was with the ballet, Unur danced leads in Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, Les Sylphides, Swan Lake, Giselle, and Paquita among many others. During this time, Unur toured Russia, Germany, China, and Korea. In 1992 he participated in an International competition Arabesque-92 in Perm. In 1996 he was honored with the year’s award for principal in a ballet in Mongolia. In 1998, he came to the United States where he performed with the Philadelphia Ballet Conservatory. Unur has recently served as a master teacher and guested with ballet companies in Charlotte NC, Savannah GA, Orlando FL, Bristol and Abington, VA as well as annually for Radford University. Unur tours Virginia as part of Roanoke Ballet Theatre's professional company. Unur not only teaches partnering and ballet but also has choreographed and performed in every major Roanoke Ballet Theatre production.
