American College Dance Festival 2007
W&L Repertory Dance Company
From March 14-18 select dancers from the newly created W&L Repertory Dance Company will be attending the American College Dance Festival at Radford College. This is the first year for W&L to attend ACDF. Each school is able to bring two pieces to be adjudicated. W&L will be bringing a modern duet, "The Veil of Ignorance", choreographed by director Jenny Davies and a stylized jazz, "Pandemonium", choreographed by Alice Shih '08. The company is also performing a modern piece, "The Blame Game", choreographed by Davies in a showcase of all participating colleges on Friday night. The winners of the judged dances will have the honor of performing at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.At the Festival, company members will also have the opportunity to take dance classes from renowned choreographers in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop, lyrical, and more. Dancers pick and choose their own dance schedule so as to tailor to their interests. It is a great opportunity for students to broaden their dance knowledge and share and learn from other dancers around the United States.
